Speed Switches from Bulk Pro Systems
Bulk Pro Systems Conveyors Speed Switches are process instruments that are designed to enunciate an alarm when the rotation stops or slows.
Bulk Pro Systems carries a complete line of speed switches. They come standard with either a discreet output or 4-20mA linear output or both.
We have proximity type speed pick-ups or the most innovative design on the market – magnetically coupled.
All of Bulk Pro Systems Conveyor Switches are built for the most rugged industrial applications. These speed switches are currently being used on conveyors all over the world.
Choosing the most appropriate speed sensing technology is important. Bulk Pro Systems can recommend the right kind of technology based on the material and the application.

Model PL72-115 Speed Monitor
The Model PL72-115 Speed Monitor is used for accurate sensing of under speed, over speed and zero speed conditions on rotating shafts, pulleys or other rotating equipment at your facility.
This microprocessor based system will protect your valuable machinery from costly downtime, inform you of current operating conditions and provide you with an alarm if there is any variation from your user supplied operating parameters.
The Model PL72-115 Speed Monitor can incorporate either a magnetically coupled or proximity type speed sensor that sends speed pulses from the moving piece of equipment you wish to monitor.
A complete system comes with the PL70 speed monitor, 30mm prox switch, prox switch mounting bracket and 3-hole target.
The Model PL72-115 Speed Monitor will help you increase production reduce downtime and provide you with vital information to the operation of your plant.
- Start-up delay: 1-99 seconds
- Alarm set-point: 0-160% of programmed speed
- Alarm delay: 0-99 seconds from receipt of the pulses or power on
- Reset mode: Power on or remote relay input
- Begin start-up delay: From receipt of pulses or power on
- Alarm reset: Manual or automatic reset
- Output: 4-20mA proportional to speed and one (1) SPDT discreet relay

Model BPMS Magnetically Coupled Speed Switch
The Model BPMS-1 Speed Switch is used for accurate sensing of Under Speed, Over Speed and Zero Speed conditions on rotating shafts, pulleys or other rotating equipment within your plant.
It has one of the most innovative designs for installation today.
It utilizes a magnet for attachment to the rotating shaft.
Tapping the pulley and coupling the speed sensor is no longer required.
Simply apply the speed sensor to the shaft and a strong magnet holds it in place, wire it up and you are ready to go.
- “Snap” in place installation
- “Break-away” design, allows it to detach from the shaft if a large object strikes it
- Universal power supply, 20-240 VAC/VDC
- 2-Wire proximity switch
- Optional NPN or PNP 3-wire proximity switches
- High visible LED to confirm operation
- Multiple pulse ranges, 1, 2, 4 & 12 pulse per revolution available
- Low profile, small shaft and low temp options

Model PL-60 Under Speed Switch
The Model PL-60 Under Speed Switch provides a low cost, reliable and simple means of monitoring the rotational velocity of a shaft or other pieces of rotating equipment at your facility.
When the shaft or other piece of rotating equipment slows down past the user defined set-point, the PL-60 sends an alarm output signal to the control system for notification or the motor starter to shut the equipment down.
In conjunction with the alarm output the PL60 comes standard with an analog output which allows you to send a linear signal to you control system allowing you to display your real time rotational speed.
The PL-60 Under Speed Switch is housed in a heavy duty, weatherproof, hermetically sealed, anti-corrosive die cast aluminum enclosure.
It is designed to perform in the harshest environments.
- Non-contacting, proximity-type detector provides extended service life and lower operating costs
- Two bolt mounting for simple installation
- Single piece construction, no separate control unit
- Easy to set-up and troubleshoot
- Start-up delay
- Alarm output notification for when speed drops below user supplied set-point
- Analog output allows you to send linear speed signal to control system
